Five different publications and presentations have been recently contributed by different members of the EnHANTs project:
- IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing: A paper by Maria Gorlatova, Aya Wallwater, and Gil Zussman titled "Networking Low-Power Energy Harvesting Devices: Measurements and Algorithms" has been accepted for publication in the IEEE Transactions on Mobile Computing. This paper deals with energy allocation algorithms for energy harvesting devices, and summarizes the conducted indoor irradiance measurements study.
- IEEE RF Integrated Circuits Symposium'12: A paper by Baradwaj Vigraham and Peter Kinget titled "An Ultra Low Power, Compact UWB Receiver with Automatic Threshold Recovery in 65 nm CMOS" was presented at the 2012 IEEE Conference on RF Integrated Circuits (RFIC'12). This paper demonstrates an ultra low power custom receiver IC we designed at Columbia intended for future use as radios in EnHANTS. The receiver has been measured in a wired link and is able to achieve 3X lower power than state of the art receivers.
- IEEE IMS'12 Workshop on Wireless Energy Transfer and Scavenging Techniques: Maria Gorlatova gave a talk titled "Energy Harvesting Active Networked Tags (EnHANTs) for Ubiquitous Object Networking" at the Workshop on Wireless Energy Transfer and Scavenging Techniques of the 2012 IEEE International Microwave Symposium (IMS'12) in Montreal, QC. This talk summarized EnHANT prototype developments, environmental energy measurements and characterizations, and energy harvesting adaptive algorithms developed in the EnHANTs project.
- IEEE Photovoltaic Specialists Conference'12: A poster by Yasmin Afsar, John Sarik, Maria Gorlatova, Gil Zussman, and Ioannis Kymissis titled "Evaluating Photovoltaic Performance Indoors" was presented at the 2012 IEEE Photovoltaic Specialists Conference. This poster presents a new approach for evaluating photovoltaic performance under artificial illumination and demonstrates the need to establish new standards of photovoltaic characterization for energy harvesting applications.
- IEEE Transactions on Communications: A paper by Zhe Wang, Ali Tajer, and Xiaodong Wang, titled "Communication of Energy Harvesting Tags", appeared in IEEE Transactions on Communications.
